JEE Main 2022Sets and Relations Question with Solution

JEE Main 2022 (26 Jul Shift 2)

Question

Let A=1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and B=3,6,7,9. Then the number of elements in the set CA:CBϕ is ______

Enter your answer

Show full solutionCorrect answer: 112
Correct answer
112

Step-by-step explanation

Given,

A=1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and B=3,6,7,9

We know that if any set has n elements then total number of subset is given by 2n

So, total subset of A=27=128

CB=ϕ when set C contains the element 1,2,4,5

  S=CA;CBϕ

= Total-CB=ϕ

=128-24=128-16=112
