JEE Main 2022Mechanical Properties of Fluids Question with Solution

JEE Main 2022 (27 Jul Shift 2)

Question

A spherical soap bubble of radius 3 cm is formed inside another spherical soap bubble of radius 6 cm. If the internal pressure of the smaller bubble of radius 3 cm in the above system is equal to the internal pressure of the another single soap bubble of radius r cm. The value of r is _____

Enter your answer

Show full solutionCorrect answer: 2
Correct answer
2

Step-by-step explanation

Pressure inside a bubble is given by, P0+4Tr.

Pressure inside the bubble of smaller radius will be,

P2-P1=P0+4T6+4T3

Pressure inside the bubble with radius rP0+4Tr

Now,

P0+4T6+4T3=P0+4Tr

1r=16+13

r=2 cm
