JEE Main 2023Current Electricity Question with Solution

JEE Main 2023 (10 Apr Shift 1)

Question

10 resistors each of resistance 10  can be connected in such as to get maximum and minimum equivalent resistance. The ratio of maximum and minimum equivalent resistance will be________.

Enter your answer

Show full solutionCorrect answer: 100
Correct answer
100

Step-by-step explanation

When all the resistors are connected in series, the total resistance is

Rmax=10R

Rmax=10×10=100 Ω

When all the resistors are connected in parallel, the total resistance is

 Rmin=R10

Rmin=1010=1 Ω

Hence, the ratio,

 RmaxRmin=100 Ω1 Ω=100.
